Since the same gods had the same level of healing, and it changed the way one and the other people got involved in that battle. The temples in the Tears of the Kingdom are an excellent step. Yes, it’s possible to construct that pile of building materials and create a huge rideable death machine capable of soaring into the skies, but I’ll spend a half hour trying to get the pieces to rotate in the right direction first. You’ll probably stumble across many shrines with a possible solution, and you will have some chance to find it a solution that could be called an unintended solution even when you are doing a puzzle, who can be sure if that was the way the developers actually intended?Įven though a lot of the game calls for Ultrahand, the actual controls for the ability are far too fiddly for an effective and effective mechanic. You’ll build bridges, build custom vehicles, and usually stick together any object you’d find in a desperate attempt to solve the trickier shine puzzles. While most of TOTK puzzles require players to use the Ultrahand to mix objects and solve problems. I’m certain that hardcore Zelda fans will find new tricks to exploit the TOTK offerings for many years.Įven though these mechanics aren’t so powerful, any player who likes these core abilities like Ultrahand may find that they don’t really gel with the game as an entire body. Without doubt, the potential for sandboxes with this line-up is unimaginable. In a large way, I found each one an excellent addition and very fun to use. There’s naturally new mechanics available, thanks to Links’ new abilities: Recall, Endoss, and Fremd. Any player who played the last episode of the game will feel like home with the game. With gameplay, Tears of the Kingdom looks identical to their predecessor. In what’s out, there’s still a lot of fun, but I hope that toss successor leans in a deeper way, and lets the player see it through the Links journey. In addition, finding out the core story is optional, so players need to seek out Dragons Tears to see the events on hold. It was brilliant, but it was disappointing that all of the key events had happened, once again, in the past. Overall, the story was much more interesting to me than in the previous game. Like in BOTW, there’s a mystery to discover here, but the same one that Link is more directly engaged in right now. When you get past this story, Tears of the Kingdoms narrative becomes very rich while it keeps kicking Link into the open world. There are still some imperfections to take, the main character aspect would have been greatly appreciated, but Tears of the Kingdom is clearly becoming the best Zelda title of the generation. Now, TOTK is near-perfecting that sandbox, sporadically improving the Switch launch title. Two years ago, Breath of the Wild revolutionized the genre by taking the stage for an open-world space sandbox – the likes of which the franchise had never experienced. Tears of the world have been out for over a month now, and within the hours we spent with that game, one thing has become clear: This new style of Zelda must stick around. Breath of the Wild 2 is here and it has more than changed the mood.
